Fermently is primarily an offline-first app. Most of your data — batch logs, fermentation entries, chart readings, and recipe notes — is stored locally on your device and is never transmitted to our servers unless you explicitly use a sync or backup feature.

We may collect the following categories of information:

• Usage data — anonymous analytics about which features are used, crash reports, and performance diagnostics. This helps us fix bugs and improve the app.
• Purchase data — when you make a one-time in-app purchase, Apple processes the transaction. We receive a receipt confirmation but never see your payment details.
• Device identifiers — anonymised identifiers used to attribute app installs and restore purchases across devices.

2. How we use your information

We use the information we collect to:

• Operate, maintain, and improve Fermently
• Verify and restore your in-app purchases
• Diagnose crashes and technical issues
• Understand which features are most useful so we can prioritise development

We do not use your data to serve personalised advertisements, and we do not share it with advertising networks.

3. Third-party services

Fermently may use the following third-party services, each governed by their own privacy policy:

• Apple App Store — manages downloads, in-app purchases, and crash reports via TestFlight and StoreKit.
• Analytics provider — anonymised, aggregated usage analytics. No personally identifiable information is shared.

4. Data retention

Fermentation data you enter in the app is stored locally on your device. If you delete the app, this data is removed. We retain anonymised crash and analytics data for up to 12 months, after which it is automatically deleted.

5. Children's privacy

Fermently is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

Depending on your location, you may have rights to:
